Upgrade from the old version of EAC Utilities

The add-in named EAC PV Tools has been renamed just EAC Tools, under the same name (eac_pv.xlam). The add-in EAC Utilities (eac_util.xlam) has been decommissioned, and all of its functionality has been transferred into the new EAC Tools. This was done for a few good reasons:

·        It takes a lot of work (like … twice as much) to develop, maintain, sell, distribute two add-ins instead of just one.

·        Everyone who used EAC Utilities also used EAC PV Tools. No one used EAC Utilities exclusively. Therefore, it makes no sense to provide EAC Utilities as a product separate from EAC PV Tools.

·        EAC Utilities has dependency on the functionality that is contained in EAC PV Tools. It no longer stands alone.

Because of this change, links to functions that were contained in the former add-in (eac_util.xlam) are no longer valid, resulting in a #NAME? error. This is easily fixed by updating the links to the new EAC Tools add-in. There are two ways to do this:

1.      Very easy way: Whenever you open a workbook, EAC Tools will check the file for invalid links and offer to update the links automatically. For example: Book3.xlsx contains 125 links to the old add-in. When this file is opened, this message box pops up, providing the user with a quick way to update all the links. When you click “OK” the fix is done very quickly, and the workbook is recalculated.

2.      Easy way: If a workbook contains invalid link, the button will appear to “Repair EAC Links”. Click this button and you will be good to go.

3.      Less easy way: Edit the links to change the source from eac_util.xlam to eac_pv.xlam.
